Locust Inc.'s revolutionary Merc System is designed to be highly versatile and customizable. The company rarely distributes fully equipped weapons systems (unless by special order). Instead the consumer is encouraged to tailor the weapon to meet their own needs. Qualified Locust Technicians are available 24/7 across the universe to assist you.

Diablo is a customized Merc System Base Model. It has had all of its inhibitors and dampeners removed increasing the weapons power while avoiding the purchase of an expensive upgrade. If not done properly the removal of these components would render the weapon unusable. And with their removal the majority of Locust Inc. upgrades become incompatible. Despite the risk to the weapon it is a common practice amongst criminals, pirates, and guns for hire. An "unrestrained piece" as they are called is a badge of honor in the criminal world.

The Diablo is most likely a pirate weapon. The main indicator of this is the gun's red coloration that is synonymous with the Colombian pirate armada, El Mar Rojo. The guns are only painted red after the pirate has killed 50 men (or 100 women and children due to them counting only as a 1/2 mark on the tally).

The owner of the Diablo may also do work as a mercenary or hired gun fighter. The Texis Corp. Wraith Scope is choice amongst only the most skilled gunmen but it is expensive and hard to come by. It is doubtful the scope was stolen due to Texis Corp.'s excessive use of security and almost all owners of this type of scope are the most highly skilled gunmen in the galaxy. The owner of the Diablo would have needed a side job as a merc to even afford the component it being way out of the pay range of a Mar Rojo Pirate. After finally earning the money to buy a Wraith Scope it would be hard to walk away from the substantial cash flow that comes from good merc work.
